Nice purity on the nose. A slight sensation of fresh grapes, green apple, lemon zest and lime. A clear notion of stony, minerality. No oak whatsoever. The palate is rather a lightweight. With youthful and primary fruit. There is no presence of oak there. Quite marked acidity. So really mouth-watering and crispy. ChĂąteau du Jaunay, Muscadet SĂšvre et Maine Sur Lie 2014, Loire Valley, France Tasting Note Muscadet traditionally pairs well with seafood and this inoffensive and straightforward Muscadet is no exception. Pale lemon-green in color this wine has a nose green apple and pear sprinkled with yeast courtesy of its lees aging. On the palate the light-bodied, dry Muscadet has a soft texture and a round tartness that plays towards the top of your throat to your back palate, and there is also lemon citrus. The wine is medium-plus in acidity and is refreshing with a pleasing tertiary-aging character reflective of aging and lees contact. Bottle Note Golden color for a fresh and dry wine. Freshness and nice aromas of lemon. Serve with shellfish, poultry and cheeses.
